Capitol Hill
A gritty alley in Capitol Hill, transformed into a tranquil garden and refined carport for a growing family on a modest budget. Simple materials and straight-forward assemblies helped keep the project costs low while bringing much-needed warmth and light to an otherwise dreary corridor. In lieu of glass skylights, an opening in the shed roof was sealed with a translucent Polygal sheet, providing an inexpensive yet attractive stage for the afternoon shadows to dance across.
