Whidbey cabana
When a client purchased a dilapidated cabin in order to protect their adjacent property from encroaching development, she asked, “Can we do something with this?”
With a mix of thorough but faithful reconstruction and lots of imagination, this humble fishing cabin was repurposed into a relaxed guest cabana. Shapely posts for the rebuilt porches were cut from a black locust tree culled from the site. The small but highly functional rooms of the original layout were maintained. The original boat storage bay became a dining and gathering space, which opens onto the adjacent leeward gardens.
